A love letter to the era of Versace, Madonna, glamour, art, and tropical excess.
Fridge Art Fair returns to Miami Beach in December 2026 with Gianni • Madonna • Coconuts, a citywide celebration of the Miami of the ’80s and ’90s, when fashion, music, art, nightlife, and celebrity collided and South Beach became one of the most glamorous places on earth.
Presented across Miami Beach, the fair transforms each unique venue into a stage for contemporary art, nostalgia, camp, color, fashion, and a little Miami magic.

VENUES: UMA House by Yurbban South Beach, Habitat Hyett, SoBeVisitor Center, and more.

Fridge explores the mythology of Miami Beach through the visual language of Gianni Versace, Madonna, and the culture of 1980s and ’90s South Beach—an era when supermodels, tropical glamour, Art Deco architecture, celebrity, and late-night Ocean Drive collided. Bringing together contemporary art, photography, painting, sculpture, and installation, the fair considers fashion, architecture, nightlife, sexuality, and excess as defining elements of Miami Beach’s cultural identity. Bold color, palm trees, neon, gold, camp, and unapologetic glamour become part of a visual vocabulary that reimagines the era through a contemporary lens.

Drawing from club culture and the city’s DIY sensibility, Fridge channels the anything-goes energy of South Beach through neon nights, leather, Lycra, club kids, thrift-store glamour, and tropical kitsch. Celebrity, consumer culture, spectacle, and self-invention helped shape the city’s image, while art, fashion, music, queer culture, and popular culture converged in ways that continue to resonate today. At its heart, the exhibition is a maximalist celebration of Madonna, Versace, Coconuts, Ocean Drive, and the larger-than-life fantasy of Miami Beach. Coconuts become a playful icon and recurring sculptural motif, connecting tropical fantasy with the

Fridge creates a citywide love letter to a Miami Beach that was glamorous, gritty, outrageous, and fabulous—a place where anything seemed possible, and where a walk down the street might mean encountering a supermodel, a celebrity, a work of art—or all three.
“Gianni • Madonna • Coconuts” invites today’s artists to reinterpret the mythology of ’80s and ’90s Miami—the glamour, the music, the fashion, the nightlife, the excess, and the wonderfully over-the-top characters who made the city legendary.

ABOUT FRIDGE ART FAIR
Founded in New York City in 2013 by artist Eric Ginsburg, Fridge Art Fair began on the Lower East Side as a playful, intimate alternative to the traditional art fair. The name was a wink at Frieze Art Fair. The question was simple: “Can you fit into the Fridge?” Since its first New York edition during Frieze Week in 2013, followed by its inaugural Miami edition later that year, Fridge has built a reputation for bringing artists and audiences together in unexpected spaces—with humor, personality, and absolutely no interest in being ordinary. Fridge’s 2026 Miami edition isn’t trying to recreate the past. It’s having fun with it.
